Lois F. Ranker, age 85, of Merrill, died Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Pine Crest Nursing Home.
Lois was born March 14, 1929, in Merrill, daughter of the late John and Leona (Radke) Siesennop. She married Arnold Ranker on April 11, 1953, in Merrill. He preceded her in death on February 7, 1996. Lois had been a cashier at both Dave’s Red Owl and Dave’s County Market, both located in Merrill. In her younger years, Lois, along with Arnie, enjoyed snowmobiling.
Lois is survived by one sister, Jean (Augie) Riebe, Wauwatosa, WI; her nephew and caregiver, Brett (Joyce) Siesen of Merrill; her special cousin, Norma Hanson of Merrill; Norma’s son, Pat (Diane) Hanson of Merrill; and other relatives and friends. Besides her parents and husband, Lois is preceded in death by four siblings, Jack and James Siesennop, and Richard and Robert Siesens.
It was Lois’ wish that no services be held. Inurnment of her remains will take place at a later date in Merrill Memorial Park Columbarium. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family.
