Grieser achieves rank of Eagle

Tyler John Grieser, of Troop 599 in Merrill, earned the rank of Eagle Scout on Dec. 10, 2013. For his project Tyler planned, organized, and led construction of a 10×12-foot play structure with a storage unit at Pine River School for Young Learners.
Tyler completed 29 merit badges upon earning the rank of Eagle. He served as Assistant Patrol Leader, Patrol Leader, Den Chief, Instructor, Troop Guide, and currently serves as Assistant Junior Scoutmaster with Troop 599 chartered through St. John Lutheran Church. 
Tyler was tapped out as an Ordeal Member in the Order of the Arrow in July of 2012 and became a Brotherhood Member in August 2013. He attended National Youth Leadership Training in June 2013.
After moving to Merrill, Tyler joined Pack 503 as a Webelos Scout at Jefferson Elementary. He especially enjoyed participating in the Pinewood Derby and the Rain Gutter Regatta. He earned the Religious Square Knot and Arrow of Light before bridging over to Troop 599.
Some of Tyler’s most memorable experiences with Troop 599 are the High Adventure Trips to South Dakota in 2012 and the 2013 National Jamboree at the Summit Bechtel Reserve in Beckley, West Virginia. He also enjoys participating in the Troop’s Annual Summer Camp Outings at Camp Tesomas, winter camping at the Iditarod, working as an actor at the Haunted Sawmill, New Scout Outings and the Lincoln County Jamboree. He is looking forward to attending the 2014 High Adventure Trip to the Grand Canyon this summer.
Tyler is a sophomore at Merrill High School. He is currently involved in Student Senate and was Captain of the JV Soccer Team in the fall of 2013. 
Tyler celebrated his Eagle Scout Court of Honor on April 5, 2014 at St. Andrew Lutheran Church. He is the son of Milton and Jennifer Grieser.
