Merlin L. ‘Mertz’ Kriewald, age 84, of Merrill, died Sunday, April 13, 2014, at Pine Crest Nursing Home, Merrill.
Mertz was born April 24, 1929, in Merrill, son of the late Herbert and Leona (Stubbe) Kriewald. Mertz was a faithful member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. He enjoyed listening to polka music, and he also enjoyed talking and visiting with both his church family and friends at Pine Crest.
Survivors include his brother, LeRoy ‘Jim’ (wife, Lu) Kriewald, Stevens Point; his niece, JoAnn Greco of Vancouver, Washington; his nephew, David (wife, Valerie) Kriewald, Manitowoc; and five great nieces and nephews.
The funeral service will begin at 1:00 P.M. Thursday, April 17, 2014, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. The Rev. Scott Gustafson will officiate. Burial will follow in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 12 Noon on Thursday at the funeral home.
