Northwoods Idol to benefit Relay for Life
The annual Northwoods Idol Karaoke Competition and Raffle will be held March 29, from 5:30-10:30 p.m. at Inshalla Country Club in Tomahawk. All proceeds from the event benefit the American Cancer Society Relay for Life.
“We are gearing up for a big event and new location,” said Valorie Nelson, one of the event’s organizers. “This year we will be at Inshalla Country Club as we have gotten bigger with each year’s event. We previously had been at Pine Tree Supper Club and enjoyed great success there.”
Jeff In the Morning from WJJQ Radio will serve as Master of Ceremonies again this year. There are two categories of Idol Winners- Junior (17 & under) and Idol for adults. Another change is that Hodag Country Music Fest tickets have replaced Fudd Fest as a Grand Prize. Prizes for singers also include trophies, cash and gift certificates. There is a $15 entry fee for singers.
The public is welcome to stop in to show support. Win raffle items and have a great time all for a good cause. There is no cover charge. Inshalla’s kitchen is open so you could have dinner, too.
“This being the 5th year for team “Hooray for Hollywood” to make a difference by FUNdraising also brings us to the reality that cancer does not discriminate and we want to make an impact on the battle against cancer,” Nelson said. “Our team has very personal reasons for this being our passion as we have been affected by cancer in our own lives! This year alone 951 people in Lincoln County will be diagnosed and through this event we are helping to make a difference. Every dollar raised brings HOPE!”
