Dorothy Ann O’ Brien, age 83, passed away on March 11, 2014 at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born in Kenosha, WI to the late John & Jessie (nee Rice) Derwae. In 1978 she married Duane O’Brien. She was employed by American Motors/Chrysler for 30 years. She and Duane moved to Merrill in 2000.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, father-in-law, Herbert O’Brien, brother-in-law, Dwight O’Brien, and step-son, Perry O’Brien. She is survived by her husband, Duane, of Merrill; a daughter, Penny (Kenneth) Wenzlick, of Merrill; two step-children, Glen O’Brien, Racine, WI and Susan O’Brien, Spring Hill, FL; 2 grandchildren, Kevin (Becky) Wenzlick, Wausau, and Jamie Lyn (Tony) (Nee Wenzlick) Amelse, Merrill; three step-grandchildren, Sean, Nicole and Adam O’Brien; two great-grandsons, Austin and Nicholas Wenzlick, Wausau; one great-granddaughter, Emily Ann Mae Amelse, Merrill; three step-great-granddaughters, Alana Klyce, Racine, and Valerie and Caylie Amelse, Merrill; one step-great-grandson, Cole O’Brien, Racine; one beloved sister, Margaret “Peggy” Eucalano, Kenosha; three precious nieces, Sheila, Peggy Ann and Andrea; several cousins; and most of all beloved mother-in-law Frances O’Brien (Mom), of Racine, whom she always loved as a mother; four brothers-in-law, Danny (Tyke) O’Brien, Dick (Alice) O’Brien, David O’Brien, Dennis (Pricilla) O’Brien Delano; and a sister-in-law Darlene Tanner.
Memorial visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, March 20, at Waid Funeral Home. Visitation and Celebration of Dorothy’s life will be held from 12-6 p.m. Sunday, March 23, at Buckets in Racine.
