LouAnn Darlene Hoff

LouAnn Darlene Hoff, age 66, of Wausau, went to her heavenly home on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
She was born on Oct. 23, 1947, in the town of Rib Falls, to the late Leonhard and Doris (Graveen) Seehafer. She was united in marriage with Robert R. Hoff at St. John’s Lutheran Church, in the town of Rib Falls, on July 3, 1965.
LouAnn had a life-long interest in genealogy and tracking family stories. She was very active in various genealogical societies through the years, and her interest even took her back to Pomerania to see her ancestral home. She loved to travel and thoroughly enjoyed a cruise the extended family and friends took to Alaska, and looked forward to more road trips out to Arizona with her husband, brother-in-law, Peter Hoff, and sister-in-law, Jean Hoff.  She also enjoyed day trips to the casino with different friends and family. LouAnn was well known for spoiling her grandchildren and loved nothing more than getting to spend time with them, even to the point of retiring so she could take over child care “duties.”  She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, town of Maine. She was still an active member of the Rib Falls HCE. LouAnn was well known for her love of speaking low-German (Plat Deutch) and was a charter member of the Pommerscher Verein, Central Wisconsin.
LouAnn is survived by her husband, Robert; children, Lynda (Victor) Smith of Yelm, WA, Robin (Deb) Hoff of Marathon, and Renea (Zachary) Kania of Marathon; four grandchildren, Eric Smith, Kytaira Smith, Robert A. Hoff, and Joseph Kania; three step-grandchildren, Thomas (Nicole) Cimino, Jr., Don (Vanessa) Cimino, and Amanda (Tim) Schmidt; four step-great-grandchildren, Amelia Cimino, Layla and Carter Schmidt, and Connor Cimino; and brother, Dale (Laurie) Seehafer.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Doris; and brother, Lester Seehafer.
A funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 7, at St. John Lutheran Church, 5304 N. 44th Ave., town of Maine, with Rev. Dan Sire officiating. Family and friends may call beginning at 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. on Thursday, March 6, at Helke Funeral Home, Wausau, and again at the church beginning at 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday. Burial will be in Friedenshain Cemetery, town of Berlin.
You may sign the family guestbook at www.helke.com.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at the Aspirus Cancer Center and Aspirus Wausau Hospital for the great care LouAnn received.
