Sign up for health care coverage at library

Two Healthcare Marketplace events are scheduled for March at T.B. Scott Free Library in Merrill—on Saturday, March 8 from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., and on Thursday, March 27 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Federally-certified assisters from SRA International, a contractor certified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and the U.S. Dept. of Health & Human Services, will be at T.B. Scott Library’s Community Room to enroll you for health insurance or answer any other questions about the Affordable Care Act (ACA).
The timing of these sessions is important, as the March 8 event comes shortly before the March 15 deadline to enroll for coverage beginning April 1, and the March 27 event comes shortly before open enrollment ends on March 31 until October 2014 (for coverage beginning May 1).
These sessions are helping Lincoln County residents get affordable health insurance through the Healthcare Marketplace. Director Stacy Stevens is also pleased to report that “area employers are using the sessions to help their employees obtain affordable healthcare coverage at T.B. Scott Library.”
Enrollment sessions generally take from 30 to 40 minutes. Bring Social Security numbers, employer and income information such as pay stubs or W-2s (for you and all family members applying for coverage), photo ID, and policy numbers for current health insurance plans covering household members.
While appointments are not necessary, you may set one up by calling SRA International at 715-218-0335.
When you arrive, assisters will help you create or check your Marketplace account, review health plans and complete enrollment. Even if you’re not ready to sign up, they’ll answer your questions about the health insurance exchanges and ACA.
Enrollment assistance in Spanish is available onsite, and in over 100 other foreign languages by phone.
Bring your own computer if you like; otherwise, SRA International assisters have computers to sign you up.
This is a Scott Free Event. Refreshments are provided by Checkered Churn and First Street Coffee Station. Call the library at 715-536-7191 or check www.tbscottlibrary.org for more information.
