Lorraine V. Schneider

Lorraine V. Schneider, age 79, of Merrill, died Saturday, Jan. 11, 2014, at Artisan Assisted Living, Merrill. 
Lorraine was born Sept. 12, 1934, in Merrill, daughter of the late Walter and Dorothy (Peterson) Woellner. She married Harold Schneider on Sept. 27, 1952, at St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill. He preceded her in death on Sept. 5, 1994. 
Lorraine was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church. She was the former President, Vice President, Secretary and Kitchen Chairman of the Ladies Aid. She was also very involved with the church’s fair stand during the Lincoln County 4-H Fair. Lorraine was a member of Lutherans for Life and the Scott Hustler Homemakers, and she was also a 4-H Leader for the Smiling Scotties. Lorraine enjoyed crocheting, knitting, camping, and following the Green Bay Packers and NASCAR (especially Dale Earnhardt, Jr.). She also enjoyed playing cards with her family and friends.  
Survivors include four sons, Michael (Kathryn) Schneider, James (Janice) Schneider, Joel (Polly) Schneider and Daniel (Gail) Schneider, all of Merrill; nine grandchildren, April (Jeremy) Scott, Heather Schneider, Stephanie (Robert) Nelson, Amanda (DuWane) Sessions, Heidi Schneider, Dana (Eric) Woller, AJ Schneider, Adam Schneider and Matthew Schneider; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Mae Lupton, of Merrill; one brother, David Woellner, of Merrill; two sisters-in-law, Marlene Woellner and Ruth Schneider, both of Merrill; one brother-in-law, Robert (Sandra) Schneider, of Merrill; and many nieces and nephews.  Lorraine was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Schneider; her parents, Walter and Dorothy Woellner; her siblings, Evelyn (Robert) Bergh, Lewis (Jenny) Woellner, Hugo James Woellner and Donald Woellner; and one brother-in-law, Elmer Lupton.   
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Jan.  20, at St. John Lutheran Church, Merrill. The Rev. Joel Hoelter will officiate. Burial will take place in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery, Merrill. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Sunday at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and after 9 a.m. Monday at the church.
