Janet E. Marquardt, age 55, of Merrill, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2013, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.
Janet was born January 11, 1958, in Wausau, daughter of Mary Ella Williams and Herbert Laatsch, Jr. She married Dale L. Marquardt on September 16, 1978. He survives. Janet was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and raising house plants, making crafts, baking, doing handiwork around her newly constructed home, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She was a 1977 graduate of Merrill Senior High School.
Survivors include her husband, Dale L. Marquardt, Merrill; one daughter, LaShann Marquardt, Wausau; two sons, Ethan Marquardt of Salisbury, North Carolina, and Elliot (with wife, Amanda) Marquardt, Merrill; nine grandchildren, Brittney, Dorian, Logan, Charles, Taeshawn, Shamia, Denali, Bentley, and Isabella; her mother and step father, Mary Ellen and Richard Williams of Irma; her father, Herbert Laatsch, Jr. of Merrill; her mother in law, Beatrice Marquardt, Merrill; and five siblings, Daniel (wife, Michele) Laatsch, Waupaca, Jimmy Williams of Irma, Dale Williams (with Stephanie Zoellner) of Irma, Chris (husband, Craig) Pfaff of Merrill, and Joyce (with husband, Russ) Bloch of Athens; and many nieces and nephews. Janet is preceded in death by her father in law, Lyle Marquardt, and her paternal grandparents, Ella and Herbert Laatsch, Sr.
A Celebration and Janet’s life will take place from 1:00 P.M. until 3:00 P.M. on Saturday, December 28, 2013, at the Taylor – Stine Funeral Home, Merrill.
