Faye E. Mittlesteadt

Faye E. Mittlesteadt, age 83, of Merrill, died Sunday, Nov. 24, 2013, at Mount View Care Center, Wausau.
Faye was born March 11, 1930, in Merrill, daughter of the late Edmund and Ruth (Driver) Shepard.  She married Norman Mittlesteadt on Nov. 18, 1949, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. He preceded her in death on March 22, 1998.  
Faye graduated from Merrill High School in 1947. She went on to work as a bookkeeper at Associated Co-op and Weinbrenner Shoe Company, both in Merrill, and Janke Book Store, in Wausau. In later years, Faye owned and operated ‘Faye’s Art Studio.’ Faye was a member and officer of Trinity P.T.L. and Ladies Aid, and the Valpo Guild. She was a charter member and officer of Merrill Area Artists and Wisconsin Valley Art Association. Faye had won many local, state and national art awards.  
Survivors include her daughter, Chris O’Hare, of Manchester, MO; three sons, Bruce (Sally) Mittlesteadt, of Hartford, WI, Breck (Bonnie) Mittlesteadt, of Kronenwetter, and Mark (Dawn) Mittlesteadt, of Rothschild; seven grandchildren, Casey (Jeremy) Miller, James (Amanda) Mittlesteadt, Toby (Leah) Frisch, Abbie (Tyler) Belliston, Becky (Jordan) Hensel, Seth Mittlesteadt and Michelle Mittlesteadt; three step grandchildren, Sam, Alex and Lauren; four great-grandchildren, Julian Mittlesteadt, Olivia Christine Frisch, Vera Belle Frisch and Coltrane Belliston; two step great-grandchildren, Tori and Elias; and one sister-in-law, Elaine Mittelsteadt, of Merrill. Faye was preceded in death by her husband, Norman; her parents; two grandchildren, Katie and Brady Frisch; and two sisters, Wilma Forster and Mary Shepard.  
The memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 6, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Mr. Rod Zimmerman will preside. The family will receive friends from 4-7 p.m. Thursday, and after 10 a.m. Friday, all at the funeral home.
