Citizens for Decency hosts variety show

Citizens for Decency, Lincoln County, Inc. will sponsor National Anti-Pornography Awareness Week from Oct. 27-Nov. 3. During this week, CDLC will conduct the annual White Ribbons Against Pornography (WRAP) campaign.

“Join us as we stand up in solidarity for purity, anti-violence and decency, as well as for those struggling with and healing from the adverse effects of pornography,” said CDLC’s Marlee Schreiber.

In conjunction, Citizens for Decency will host their first-ever Family Variety Show featuring local and surrounding area talent on Saturday, Oct. 26 at 2 p.m. at Merrill Bible Church, 508 Eugene St., Merrill. Citizens for Decency invites families, groups and the general public to come out and enjoy those who are eager to entertain with the theme “It’s OK to Keep it Clean.”

The variety show will feature songs sung by Karen Cournaya, Ray Figueroa, Howie Pulkowski; harmonica played by Brian Williams; piano by Molly McGinn; and karate demonstrations by the Weix and Hagemeister girls. Also featured will be well-known musicians, Susanna Gilk and Elizabeth Engel, violin duet; John Mile, comedy; John Kilgust, juggler; and more. All this will be tied together by master of ceremonies Robert Schneider.

Admission is free, along with free refreshments, free literature, prizes and entertainment. Reservations are appreciated to ensure seating. Food donations for the Community Food Pantry are welcome.
