Gladys Aschbrenner, age 94, of Sterling, IL died Wednesday, August 28, 2013 at Sterling Pavilion Nursing Home.
Gladys was born September 9, 1918 in Merrill, WI the daughter of Fred and Louise (Kienbaum) Schulz. She married Edward Christ Aschbrenner on November 19, 1938 in Merrill, WI. He preceded her in death on February 3, 2005. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rock Falls. Gladys owned and operated Glads Boutique and Interior, and worked as a seamstress making draperies and window coverings.
Survivors include one daughter Ann Meyer of Milwaukee, WI, one son Roger (Pam) Aschbrenner of Sterling, one sister Esther Gruling of Merrill, WI, six grandchildren, and six great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers, three sisters, and one son-in-law Rev. Donald Meyer.
Visitation will be from 9:30-10:45 A.M., Saturday, August 31, 2013 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rock Falls. Funeral service will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at the church with Reverend Daniel Behmlander officiating. Burial will be held 10:00 A.M., Monday, September 2, 2013 at Snow Hill Cemetery in Scott, WI with Robert Schneider officiating the committal service.
In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established to Christ Lutheran School in Sterling and Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Rock Falls.
