Mildred P. Deering

Mildred P. Deering, age 85, of Lake Tomahawk, died on Wednesday, Aug. 7 at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill, in the care of Hospice.
Millie was born on June 19, 1928 in Chicago, IL. She married Robert E. Deering on July 8, 1950, in Chicago, until his death in 2007. They left the Chicagoland area to purchase the Shamrock Bar in Lake Tomahawk in 1972 with George and Erna Baumgartner. They later sold the bar and Millie went to work for Lakeland True Value in Lake Tomahawk. She retired in 2008 after 30 years of dedication. She was an active member of the Holy Family Catholic Church in Woodruff and some of the woman’s groups associated with it. She loved spending time with her family.
She is survived by her three sons: George of Lake Tomahawk, Robert of Crystal Lake, IL, and John (Kelly) of Merrill; and by grandchildren: Margaret, Gina, Tara, Stephanie, Zachary, Jessica, Robbie, Jamie and Jill. She is further survived by two sisters: Betty Prehn and Rose Nanneman, both of South Carolina; and her sister-in-law: Erna Baumgartner of Lake Tomahawk; and by many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Millie was preceded in death by her husband, Bob and by two brothers: Al and George; and one sister: Mary.
Funeral services were held on Monday, Aug. 12 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Woodruff. Burial took place at Wilderness Rest Cemetery in Lake Tomahawk.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to Holy Family Catholic Church or Ministry Dr. Kate Hospice.
