Rangers win road duel at Minocqua

The Merrill Rangers put together a solid road outing in Minocqua Sunday, coming up with a 3-2 win to advance their record to 4-1.
Luke Golisch went the full nine innings, striking out 13, allowing just five hits and giving up no walks.
The game was tied at 2 through eight full innings when Lucas Thiel got an RBI walk with bases loaded to score the winning run in the top of the ninth. Zack Wendorf and Chris Grunenwald added the other two runs on solo hommers.
Jon Annis, assistant coach for the Rangers, said game boiled down to witch team would be able to win the pitching duel or capitalize on any mistakes the other made.
“We got clutch at bats, but it was a nail biter until the end,” Annis said. “It’s good to win those.”
