Post 93 still perfect in five tries

The Tomahawk American Legion Post 93 baseball team has been on an absolute tear lately, chewing up three teams last week.
Post 93 is 5-0 overall.
Tomahawk crushed Medford 15-1 at home on Friday behind 15 hits and 9 walks.
“We came into the game planning on pitching several guys to keep them sharp,” Post 93 manager Wes Roessler said. “Kevin (Bolder) started and didn’t allow a runner until the fourth inning. Jared (Jarvensivu) and Fletcher (Schoone) shut the Medford hitters down the rest of the way. They never let Medford get any momentum.
“Our guys had another big day at the plate. Jared has been red hot. He has reached base every time he came to the plate in the last three games, including 11 hits. Jon (Nyberg), Trevor (Iwen), Jordan (Roessler) and Kevin came up with some key hits to drive in runs to keep the momentum on our side.”
Each pitcher allowed a hit and Bolder struck out 9 in 4 innings. Schoone gave up the run in the 7th.
Jarvensivu (3-3, 2B, 2 W, 4 R), Nyberg (3-4, 2B), Bolder (2-3, 2B, 3 RBI), Iwen (2-3), Lorne Ahrens (1-4, 3 RBI), and Roessler (1-5, 2B, 2 RBI) paced the hitting.
Mosinee
A 4-run 4th turned a 2-1 edge into a solid 6-1 lead in Thursday. Mosinee tallied 2 in the 5th, but Post 93 bumped it to 7-3 in 6th and closed it out.
“This was not one of our best hitting games but we were able to capitalize on the baserunners Mosinee gave us and drive them in with key hits,” Roessler said. “Jared had another solid day at the plate. Lorne’s home run in the first inning energized the team.
“Jon continued his stretch of solid pitching. When he is on the mound, the guys feel like they will win. He keeps the defense in the game and very seldom lets a bad situation get out of hand.”
Nyberg (6 H, 0 W, 6 K, 3 R, 2 ER in 6 I) won. Jarvensivu (3-3, 2 RBI), Bolder (2-4, 2 RBI), and Ahrens (1-3, 2 RBI) pushed Post 93 to 6 hits and 8 walks.
Twisting Phillips
A 9-run 4th and 3-run 7th propelled a 13-0 triumph last Tuesday.
“Jared had a huge day at the plate. He was hitting with confidence and hit the ball hard every time,” Roessler said. “It was a solid day at the plate for several players.
Jordan and Lorne combined to pitch a very good game. They never allowed Phillips to get anything started.”
Jarvensivu (5-5, 2B, 3 R), Nyberg (2-5, 2-2B, 4 RBI), Schoone (2-5, 2B, 2 RBI), Jacob Sabielny (2-5, 3 RBI), Iwen (2-5, 2 RBI) and Aaron Leonhard (2-4) pushed Post 93 to 18 hits and 2 walks.
Ahrens (2 H, 1 W, 3 K, 0 R in 4 I) won and Roessler (3 H, 0 W, 3 K, 0 R in 3 I) relieved.
