Tomahawk?s Music on the River Committee announces summer concert schedule

Tomahawk’s Music on the River is celebrating its sixth summer concert series and announces its 2013 concert line-up, which includes six free concerts at Veteran’s Memorial Park scheduled in June and July. Artists scheduled to appear include The Warren Nelson Outfit, The WhiskeyBelles, Swing City Dance Band, People’s Choice, The King & Diamonds and The Whitehouse Players.
The summer concert series is scheduled to begin June 19 with The Warren Nelson Outfit kicking off the six week line-up. Weekly concerts will be held on Wednesday nights beginning at 6 p.m. and ending at 8 p.m. The only exception is the week of July 4, in which a special concert sponsored by the Tomahawk Area Chamber of Commerce and featuring Hand Picked Bluegrass will take place on July 3. Concert attendees are invited to come by car or boat and bring lawn chairs, picnic suppers, coolers, family, neighbors and friends. All concerts are free to the public. SARA Park’s indoor arena will be used in the event of rain.

Wed., June 19: The Warren Nelson Outfit (original tunes from folk, swing, bluegrass and boogie-woogie)
Wed., June 26: The WhiskeyBelles (all female trio, traditional country and Americana with a hot fiddle)
Wed., July 10: Swing City Dance Band (17 member brass and big band swing sounds
Wed., July 17: People’s Choice (9 piece group, with 4 member horn section, classic rock, jazz and pop)
Wed., July 24: The King & Diamonds (Neil Diamond and Elvis Presley tribute band and Las Vegas revue)
Wed., July 31: The Whitehouse Players (country, classic rock)
“The Music on the River board of directors are once again very happy to have the opportunity to provided six concerts to the Tomahawk community this summer,” said Julie Dentler, Music on the River committee member. “Because of the support of individual donors, businesses, community groups and local foundations, our concerts will remain free for all to enjoy. We are looking forward to making our sixth season the best yet!”
