Local businesses support work study program at MHS

Special education students at Merrill High School have the opportunity to gain valuable work experience through the Work Study Program, a partnership between the school and a host of local businesses.
The students receive hands-on training while earning high school credits. The program allows them to apply what they have learned and prepare for life beyond high school.
Businesses participating in this year’s Work Study Program were Merrill Ace Hardware, AmericInn, Auto Jockey’s, Bell Tower, Breaman’s Merrill Ford, Brickner’s Park City, Champ’s Restaurant, Chism Trail Ranch, Cosmo Theatre, Dave’s County Market, DC Motors, Dollar Tree, Fillmore Metal Crafters, First Street Coffee Station, Geiss Meat Service, Gold Medal Trailers, Helping Hands Thrift Store, Lincoln County Humane Society, Kathy & Cal’s Club 64, Kid’s Kingdom, Koss Marine & Monument, Krueger’s Grassland Dairy, Kwik Trip, Lincoln County 4-H Extension Office, Merrill Karate Club, Mid-West Trailers, Muffler & Brake Specialists, Murphy’s Mini-Mart, Pizza Hut, Rich’s Discount, Schulz’s Recycling, Skipper’s Restaurant, St. Francis School, St. Stephen’s Church, T.B. Scott Library and Walgreens.
The program also receives support from the Merrill Area Public Schools staff, particularly at the PRMS Special Education Department, Kate Goodrich and Washington elementary schools and the school forest.
