Lincoln County Reads adult summer library program

The Lincoln County Reads Adult Summer Library Program is underway at T.B. Scott Free Library, where you can win prizes just for reading.
For the eighth straight year, T.B. Scott Library and Tomahawk Public Library co-sponsor Lincoln County Reads from May 28 through Aug. 22 to encourage and reward reading by adults. This year’s Adult Summer Library Program theme is “Groundbreaking Reads.”
Entering is easy. If you’re at least age 18, you’re eligible. Read or listen to any book, fiction or nonfiction, in any format – books in print, books on CD or tape, even ebooks.
Pick up entry forms at T.B. Scott Library, write down the titles of five books you’ve read or listened to on each form, and drop completed forms in an entry box at the library. You can enter up to 50 times per contest.
Prize winners in regular drawings, to be held on June 28, July 26, and Aug. 9, will be announced on WJMT 730AM The Patriot’s Our Town program at 8:45 a.m., and will also be notified by phone. Each reader can win once in a regular drawing.
Hardee’s, Johnson Gifts & Home Decor, Hugo’s Pizza, Merrill Hometown Pharmacy, Culver’s, Ye Olde Sweet Shoppe, Family Chiropractic Clinic, Champ’s Restaurant, Les & Jim’s Lincoln Lanes, and the Friends of T.B. Scott Library have generously donated prizes for the Adult Summer Library Program.
All entries are eligible for the Grand Prize drawing, which will take place live on WJMT 730AM The Patriot’s Our Town program at 8:45 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 23. The Grand Prize will include prizes from all program sponsors.
In last year’s contest, 158 readers submitted 462 entries after reading over 2300 books, and 37 won a prize – including seven who turned in a single entry!
While reading can be useful and/or enjoyable, it’s also an important part of developing an informed and involved citizenry. The library is proud to sponsor reading contests to encourage reading by all ages and reward them for doing so.
