A 49-year-old Rhinelander man died Saturday in an ATV accident in the town of Harrison. According to a Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office report, Randy J. Romenesko was riding on an ATV trail east of County Rd. B when he lost control and struck a tree at approximately 6 p.m.
Romenesko was transported to Ministry Good Samaritan Hospital in Merrill, where he was pronounced dead. According to the sheriff’s office, Romenesko was wearing a helmet, but it was not properly secured.
Speed appears to be the main contributing factor for the crash, but the investigation continues. Alcohol does not appear to have been a factor, according to the sheriff’s office.
The Russell Fire Department, Merrill EMS, a DNR conservation warden and deputies from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash.
