Eugene R. ?Roy? Knorr

Eugene R. “Roy” Knorr, age 82, of Merrill, passed away Saturday, May 4, 2013, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital.

He was born November 3, 1930, in Crandon, WI, the son of the late William and Enid (Bowen) Knorr. He married the former Josephine Galdik on April 30, 1977 in Antigo. She survives him.
Roy was a 1949 graduate of Elcho High School. He was a sales representative for Red Dot Foods and later the Frito Lay Company. He then worked as an industrial salesman for Shadboldt and Boyd Manufacturing Company and later he owned and operated Knorr Industrial Sales Company until his retirement in 1992. Roy was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Trinity Men’s Club. He loved to travel and was proud of how many miles he could put on a vehicle. When his wife retired they spent a lot of time traveling the country visiting relatives and various sites. Roy was an avid deer hunter.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine of Merrill, a son, Mark (Laurie) Knorr of Merrill. One daughter, Karen (Raymond Jr) Lewis of Antigo. Two step-daughters; Mary (Keith) Everts of Richfield, WI and Dawn (James) Ziegel of Merrill. One sister, Bernice Legro of Antigo. 15 grandchildren; Jessica, Derek, Genna, Roy, Terry, Steve, Kennan, David, Christopher, Brian, Susan, Joshua, Sheena, Travis and Amie, 9 great-grandchildren; Joslyn, Colton, Dakota, Keegan, Michael, Jaedyn, Celina, Paige and Justin and his beloved dog, Ciara.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 9, 2013, at the Waid Funeral Home.
The Rev. Scott Gustafson will officiate. Burial will be in Merrill Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4PM to 8PM, Wednesday, May 8, 2013 and again on Thursday from 10AM to 11AM, all at the Waid Funeral Home.
