Merrill Federal Savings and Loan donates to Cenotaph plaque fund

Merrill Federal’s contribution of $500 helped assure completion of the memorial to honor 49 Lincoln County veterans who died in the First World War. The 49 names will now be permanently on public display on a restored 7′ high, 80-pound bronze plaque.
This project is co-sponsored by Marathon/Lincoln Co. VFW Post 10203, Merrill VFW Post 1638 and Tomahawk VFW Post 2687.
The plaque dedication ceremony will be held this Memorial Day, May 27, from 4- 4:30 p.m. A celebration will follow with food, refreshments and entertainment. This family event will be dedicated to all our neighbors who served in the Armed Forces. Those who belonged to any branch of the Armed Forces are ask to wear your service cap or uniform to the event.
