Food for Fines ends Saturday at library

Until 4 p.m. Saturday, April 20, settle your fines at T.B. Scott Free Library through Food for Fines.
T.B. Scott Free Library will offset a dollar of library fines for each food item brought to the circulation desk. Food will be given to the Merrill Food Pantry. Up to $50 in fines per patron may be waived. Fines will still be collected from patrons without donations. Donations can be applied to fines, but not to lost or damaged materials charges.
Suggested food donations include cold cereal, elbow macaroni, canned fruit or vegetables, spaghetti sauce, Jello, powdered milk, Spam, rice, instant potatoes, crackers, and toilet tissue. Donated items should not be expired or near an expiration date. Food in glass containers or dented cans will not be accepted.
Food for Fines is part of the library’s National Library Week celebration. To learn more about the library and what’s happening there, call 715-536-7191 or go to www.tbscottlibrary.org or T.B. Scott Free Library on Facebook.
