Children?s Festival Saturday at Smith Center

The Merrill Park and Recreation Department along with Marshfield Clinic will be sponsoring the Children’s Festival on Saturday, April 13, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. at the Smith Center, Merrill. The Children’s Festival is a yearly event at the Smith Center bringing in many different vendors with different activities for the children to participate in. Along with the many different vendors at the Children’s Festival, Melody Valenti will also be drawing Caricatures, there will be a small fee for these, the Merrill girls’ tennis team will be doing face painting and there will also be demonstrations from different vendors.
The Marshfield Clinic, Merrill Police Department, Merrill Optimist and Wendorf Bus will also be doing the bike rodeo for the children. There will be an obstacle course set up around the outside of the arena for the kids to go through. The Merrill Optimist will be performing safety checks on bikes that are brought in; all kids are encouraged to bring in their bikes. The Merrill Police Department and Wendorf Bus will be doing a bike safety talk with all the kids and after they complete the safety talk, Marshfield Clinic will fit each child with a new helmet. Every child that completes the safety part of the bike rodeo will also have a chance to register for a new bike.
Come out and experience some of the best creativity and fun that Merrill has to offer with an experience to inspire and engage children in the many different activities that the Children’s Festival has to offer.
