Miriam ?Peg? Ament

Miriam ‘Peg’ Ament, age 90, passed away on Thursday, March 28, 2013, at Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.
Peg was born October 8, 1922, in Merrill, daughter of the late Ben and Mabel (Salscheider) Carl. She married Charles J. ‘Shorty’ Ament in October of 1947, and he preceded her in death on February 17, 2012. Peg was a homemaker. She enjoyed golfing, playing cards, especially bridge, traveling, the Green Bay Packers, the Milwaukee Brewers, and an occasional casino trip. Peg was a lifelong member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Merrill.
Peg is survived by two sisters-in-law, Ruth Strasman and Joan Rostal, both of Merrill; her nieces and nephews, Sally Baade, Greg and Mary Ament, Andy and Jan Ament, Matthew ‘Charlie’ Ament, and Steven and Lana Strasman, all of Merrill, and Mary Jo Laabs, of Michigan; and several great nieces and nephews, including Robin (Danielle) Baade, of Green Bay, and Nicole (Shawn) Henke, of Merrill. Besides her parents and husband, Peg is preceded in death by her sister and brother in law, Jane and Carl Bierman; her brother, Tom Carl; and her in-laws, Bud and Shirley Ament, Bert Strasman, and Gordon Rostal.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:30 A.M. Friday, April 5, 2013, at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Merrill. Father Michael McLain is presiding. Entombment will follow in Merrill Memorial Park Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Thursday at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill.
The family has suggested that memorials be directed to St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, Bell Tower Residence, or the charity of your choice.
