Albert Haltinner, Sr.

Albert Haltinner, Sr., age 86, of the Town of Scott, died Monday, April 1, 2013, at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill.
Albert, a courageous, quiet, good-humored, and industrious man who listened to everything and spoke with purpose. He was born November 14, 1926 in Marbach, Switzerland to Jakob and Wilhelmina Haltinner. He married Martha Gross on August 17, 1957. Albert served in the Swiss Military and was a jockey and a farmer prior to moving to Merrill with his family in March of 1968. Albert was very proud to become a citizen of the United States of America on November 22, 1973. He actively farmed with his family until just a few years ago. Albert enjoyed being with his family and loved to travel, discovering new places and spaces, and enjoyed deer hunting.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Haltinner of Merrill; three sons, Albert Haltinner, Jr. of Merrill (wife Jodie and grandchildren: Jason (Athena Strand) and their son, Henry; Kyle (Amanda) and their children, Lilee and Aaron; and Cassie), Urs Haltinner of Menomonie (wife Betsy and grandchildren, Andra and Alexa), Norbert Haltinner of Merrill (wife Heidi and grandson Jakob); two daughters, Jnge Haltinner of Las Vegas (husband Kirk Moses) and Martha Haltinner-Harman of Switzerland (husband Kossa Harman and grandchildren Zadin and Dewran); and two sisters, Esther Leu-Haltinner and Friedy Thür-Haltinner both of Switzerland. Albert was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.
The memorial service will be at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, April 4, 2013, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Pastor Missy Holdorf will officiate. The Haltinner family will receive friends after 9:00 A.M. Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of sending flowers, do something special with your own family and loved ones.
