Alvin Pahls

Alvin Pahls, age 85, of Merrill, died Friday, March 29, 2013 at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill.
Alvin was born April 23, 1927, in Merrill, son of the late Anton and Hattie (Weisenfeld) Pahls. He married Bernice E. Radloff on September 17, 1949, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. She survives. Alvin enlisted in the United States Army on June 14, 1945. He served his country during World War II and was stationed in Italy. He was honorably discharged on February 10, 1947. Alvin had worked at Lincoln Wood and the former Anson-Gilkey, both in Merrill. He enjoyed woodworking, being outdoors, and fishing.
Survivors include his wife, Bernice Pahls, of Merrill; one sister, Lila Pahls, of Wausau; and one brother, James (Jackie) Pahls, of Antigo. Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Hattie Pahls; and his siblings, Jeannette, Geraldine, Bonnie, Harold, and David.
The funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. on Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at the Holy Cross Chapel at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill. The Rev. R. Brian Stolarczyk will officiate. Burial will be in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 9:30 A.M. Tuesday at the funeral home. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family with arrangements.
