The transition in age for young girls can be difficult, especially in today’s society with information often just a click away on a computer or a variety of television channels.
Ministry Health Care will host “About You Girls,” an educational program designed for 4th grade girls and their mothers. This free program will be held on Wednesday, April 10, from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Cafeteria at Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center.
About You Girls will feature discussion on the physical, emotional and social needs and concerns of young girls and the challenges they face as they enter adolescence in our world today.
Featured Presenters include: Dionna Pendleton, M.D., Family Medicine specialist from Ministry Medical Group in Merrill with information on the physical changes that girls can expect in this transition period; Deb Zuelsdorff, Physical Therapy Assistant, Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center with information on healthy exercise; Evelyn Lee, Mental Health Counselor, Anderson and Associates Counseling and Psychologist Services will focus on mother/daughter communication skills along with emotional changes.
