Annis retires

Deputy Peter A. Annis is retiring from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office after 37 years of service. Annis joined the Sheriff’s Office on Dec. 1, 1975. He was hired by Sheriff Ron Krueger and has worked in the patrol division ever since.
During Deputy Annis’ tenure at the Sheriff’s Office he became the traffic safety coordinator and EVOC instructor. As traffic safety coordinator, Annis secured thousands of dollars worth of grant money to provide extra patrols (Speed Enforcement, Click It or Ticket, You Drink You Drive You Lose, and Zero in Wisconsin) on the county’s highways. Since the implementation of these programs, there has been a significant decrease in speed and alcohol related crashes and fatalities.
As the EVOC instructor, Annis conducted in-house training of deputies on emergency vehicle operations on the county’s ever-changing roadways.
Deputy Annis’ last day on the job was Dec. 29.
