Somo shooting update

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is continuing the investigation into a shooting incident that took place Monday in the Town of Somo.
On Monday just before 4 p.m. Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital notified law enforcement that 66 year old Charles J. Lawn of Tomahawk had been brought there by private auto after a shooting incident which took place off of Pine Tree Lane.
Lawn was later transported to Aspirus Wausau Hospital where he was interviewed on Wednesday morning. He informed Sheriff’s Investigators that he had shot himself accidently in the neck with a .22 long rifle while rabbit hunting with friends.
The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office and the DNR will continue to investigate the matter. No criminal charges are being sought at this time.
