Lumberjacks stroke win

Wausau East washed over the Bluejay girls 136-34 in Thursday’s road dual meet.
“This week we have been working really hard in the pool, since we are on our final push towards the end of the season before tapering begins,” MHS coach Allie Thut said. “We still had some girls produce personal best times tonight and were close to setting a new school record in one event (the 100 breaststroke).
“We have one more dual meet and then conference so the season is wrapping up quickly. I look forward to see what times the team produces at the very end of the season.”
The Lumberjacks captured all of the 1st- and 2nd-place finishes.
Taking third were: Jennica Jahnke (200 IM, 2:38.18/ 100 brea, 1:16.88); Kendyl Pettit (50 free, :27.65/ 500 free, 6:10.10); the 200 medley team (Taylor LaBorde, Robin Opsahl, Jahnke, Pettit, 2:12.15); the 200 free squad (LaBorde, Opsahl, Emily Gessler, Miranda Jahnke, 2:22.43); and the 400 free (J. Jahnke, M. Jahnke, Liv Wilmink, Pettit, 4:26.69).
