Carol D. Nichols, age 80, of Merrill, died Tuesday, October 16, 2012, at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill.
Carol was born March 16, 1932, in Oshkosh, daughter of the late Harvey and Catherine Kriewald. She married Robert Noel on March 11, 1952, in St. Stephens United Church of Christ, Merrill. He preceded her in death on January 29, 2012. Carol was a homemaker. She enjoyed watching her five sons participate in athletics, and took pride in her son’s as they grew in their personal lives. She had been an avid bowler; enjoyed helping organize her Merrill High School class reunions; and was a fan and stockholder of the Green Bay Packers.
Survivors include her sons, Steven (Kim) Nichols, Greendale, Thomas (Dena) Nichols, Mesa, Arizona, John (Mary Jo) Nichols, Manitou Springs, Colorado, David Nichols, Plymouth, and Matthew Nichols, Waukesha; nine grandchildren, Kelly, Stephanie, Paul, Emily, Madeline, Benjamin, Joseph, Seth, and Michael; and two sisters, June Kriewald, Denver, Colorado, and Phyllis (Harlan) Fausch, Irma.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 26, 2012, at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill. Pastor Missy Holdorf will officiate. Burial of her cremated remains will follow in Merrill Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 10:00 A.M.
