Delmer D. Lange

Delmer D. Lange, age 79, of Gleason, died Saturday, October 6, 2012, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Marshfield.
Delmer was born May 5, 1933, in the Town of Russell, Lincoln County, son of the late Otto, Sr. and Minnie (Radeck) Lange. He married Peggy Laurick on May 25, 1957 in Brookfield, IL. She survives. Delmer was a veteran of the United States Army. He enlisted in April of 1953 and was honorably discharged in March of 1955. Delmer was stationed in Korea for one year, and then was stationed in Hawaii. Delmer had been employed in the building trades in Illinois and Wausau until he retired full-time to dairy farming in the Town of Russell. He enjoyed fishing and was a very successful hunter. He was the former commander of V.F.W. Post 10915 Gleason. Delmer was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Gleason, where he was also a trustee.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Peggy Lange, of Gleason; one daughter, Sandy Lange, of Sandstone, MN; two sons, Russell (KayDee) Lange, of Gleason, and Richard (Mary) Lange, of Hinckley, MN; six grandchildren, Kevin (Stephanie) Lange, of Merrill, Gregory Lange, of Gleason, Kelsey Lange, of Gleason, Leigha Lange, of Everett, WA, Rachael Humes, of Duluth, MN, and Aaron Humes, of Duluth, MN; two great-granddaughters, Allison and Macie Lange, of Merrill; one sister, Evelyn (Lyle) Henrich, of Rosendale, WI; one brother, Delbert (Marie) Lange, of Irma; and many nieces and nephews. Delmer was preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Minnie Lange, Sr.; and his siblings, Iona, Oscar, Clarence, Carl, Emil, LaVern, and Otto, Jr.
The funeral will be at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, October 13, 2012, at Luther Memorial Lutheran Church, Gleason. The Rev. Hans J. Heisinger will officiate. Burial will take place in Luther Memorial Church Cemetery, Town of Russell, with graveside military rites conducted by V.F.W. Post 1638, Merrill. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home, and after 10:00 A.M. Saturday at the church.
