Merrill Firefighters responded to a 911 call for vehicle totally engulfed in flames, at W5029 Doering Dr., in the Town of Merrill, shortly after 9 a.m. Friday morning.
Upon arrival crews found a mini-van totally engulfed in fire, they quickly extinguished the fire, keeping the fire contained to the vehicle of origin and a small area of grass near the parked van. It appeared the van had an engine malfunction which may have caused the fire.
Due to the high winds and dry conditions Merrill requested assistance from the Wisconsin DNR, however the DNR was cancelled as the Merrill crew handled the scene. The Lincoln Sheriff’s Department was on scene as well.
No injuries were reported, however the van was a total loss. Crews remained on the scene for just less than an hour.
