Oven fire contained
The Merrill Fire Department along with the Merrill Police Department responded to an oven fire at 105 N. Nast St. Saturday.
The 911 call came into the Lincoln County Dispatch Center at 11:35 a.m. Ladder-1, Medic-1, Engine-2, and Brush-6 initially responded emergent to the scene. Brush-6, which happened to be getting station supplies at the time of the call, and Merrill PD squad cars arrived on scene in one minute. The fire in the oven was contained to the appliance. Engine-2 was cancelled and returned to Station #2. Ladder-1 and Medic-1 continued to the scene non-emergent. The burned debris, an oven hot pad, was removed from the oven. Merrill fire personnel then used the PPV (positive pressure ventilation) fan to remove smoke from the building.
