Jan M. Malluege, age 90, of Merrill, died Friday, April 13, 2012, at Bell Tower Residence, Merrill, surrounded by her loving family.
Jan was born January 26, 1922, in Merrill, daughter of the late Max and Hazel (Staege) Berndt. She married Bernard Malluege on June 8, 1940, in Merrill. He preceded her in death on November 27, 1987. Jan was an excellent homemaker, and for 28 years had worked at the former Merrill Woolen Mill. She enjoyed dancing and was a member of the Central Wisconsin Polka Club.
Survivors include her sister, Joyce Kufahl, Merrill; and five nieces and nephews, Robert (Debbie) Kufahl, Merrill, Tom (with, Kate Robley) Kufahl, Neenah, Gloria Gammey, Menasha, Sandi (Tim) Schmeltzer, Merrill, and Tom Giganti, Green Bay. Besides her parents and husband, Jan is preceded in death by her son, Larry Malluege, in 1994; brother in law, Ellsworth Kufahl; and three nieces, Kathleen and Kathryn Kufahl, and Rita Giganti.
The funeral will be at 1:00 P.M. Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at St. Stephens United Church of Christ, Merrill. Pastor Missy Holdorf will officiate. Burial will be in Merrill Memorial Park. Visitation will begin at 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at the church. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home is assisting the family.
The family has requested that memorials be directed to St. Stephens United Church of Christ.
