Pine River home destroyed by fire

On Wednesday at 5:12 p.m., the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office received several 911 calls reporting a structure fire at W3695 State Rd. 64 in the town of Pine River.
Deputies along with firefighters from the Pine River Fire Department responded to the scene. Mutual aid requests were made to the towns of Russell, Texas and Hewitt fire departments along with the Merrill Fire Department for a tanker truck. The Wisconsin DNR Fire Ranger also responded to the scene.
The fire which was believed to have started in the garage took about an hour to bring under control. Firefighters remained on the scene for some time doing overhaul.
Traffic on Hwy. 64 was restricted to one lane due to fire ground and tanker operations. Traffic was controlled with the assistance of a Trooper from the Wisconsin State Patrol and the Lincoln County Highway Department.
No one was injured in the fire. The home’s occupants, along with their pets, were able to safely evacuate. The home is owned by David and Becky Teeples. The American Red Cross was called to the scene to assist the Teeples and their three children.
