Louise Kufahl, age 82, of the Town of Pine River, died Sunday, Nov. 13, 2011, at her home, under the care of her family and Ministry Home Care Hospice.
Louise was born Dec. 20, 1928, in Milwaukee, daughter of the late Ferdinand and Maria (Wagner) Janssen. She married Reuben E. Kufahl on Dec. 8, 1951, in the Town of Pine River. He preceded her in death on May 16, 2011. Louise was a homemaker. She enjoyed canning, baking, and was an excellent cook. She also enjoyed making maple syrup every spring. Her greatest joy came with family gatherings.
Survivors include seven daughters, Janeen (Brian) Zimmermann, Markesan, WI, Kris (Jeff) Hill, Gleason, Lori (Rick) Stine, Merrill, Colleen (Scott) Cole, Marion, Iowa, Judy Frymark, Merrill, Heidi (Todd Edelburg) Ninnemann, Wausau, and Joanne (Dave) Anderson, Allenton; two sons, Kevin and Russell Kufahl, both of Merrill; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, Louise is preceded in death by two brothers, Gerhardt and Fred Janssen.
Services will be private. The Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, is assisting the family.
