Cyanna Jane “CJ” Goessl, 11, of Merrill, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 27, 2011 under the care of her loving family and Ministry Home Care Hospice.
CJ was born April 29, 2000 in Marshfield to Randy Goessl and Tonya Jean Burns-Norton.
She lived in Owen, WI and then in Merrill where she attended Jefferson Elementary School. CJ was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Medford and loved horseback riding with her mother and watching demo-derbies with her dad. She will be remembered as being a waterbug because she enjoyed swimming & waterparks. She also enjoyed collecting Barbies, building model cars, riding her bike, fishing and watching movie musicals.
She is survived by her loving daddy, Randy Goessl of Withee; loving mommy, Tonya (Scott) Burns-Norton of Merrill; brothers, Brett William Goessl & Dalton Lee Waide, both of Merrill; step-brother, Michael Norton of Merrill; paternal grandma, Adoree Krueger of Withee; maternal grandma, Paula Burns of Medford; paternal great-grandma, Helen Goessl of Mosinee; step-paternal grandfather, William Winslow of Withee; step-maternal grandfather, Joseph Stibbe; step-grandparents, William (Shirley) Bickett of Tomahawk and Eugene (Diane) Davis of Burlington, IA. Also surviving are aunts, uncles, cousins, classmates and many special friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather Tom Goessl, maternal grandfather Roger Burns and aunt Christine Burns.
A funeral service was held Friday, Sept. 30, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Medford. Pallbearers were Jason Krueger, Phil Goessl, Tim Stock, Kyle Hoffmann, Michael Norton and Rodney Norton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in honor of CJ may be directed to the Team CJ Fund at Taylor Credit Union.
Dallmann-Kniewel Funeral Homes of Medford & Rib Lake served the family.
