Delores ?Dori? Beckman

Delores “Dori” Beckman, age 73, of Rhinelander, left her loving family and friends on Sept. 6, 2011 in Wausau.
Dori was born on May 20, 1938 in Wausau to Clarence and Madelia(Alberts)Hanson.
She attended schools in Wausau and then married Glenn Beckman on March 19, 1960 in Wausau. They moved to Rhinelander in 1966 and have lived here since. Dori had been employed by Marathon Electric, the Rhinelander Holiday Inn and then as a rural route carrier for the US Postal Service. Dori had many interests that most often included her family. She loved doing counter cross stichting, watching the Packers and her favorite NASCAR driver, Matt Kenseth. She was a great bowler and a proud member of the 600 club. She loved the Hodag Country Festival, fall hunting with family and friends and her absolute favorite activity, going to the casino! Dori treasured the time spent with family, friends and especially her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband Glenn, her four daughters Sandra (Brian) Rasmussen of Merrill, Cindy (Bruce) Collins of Rhinelander, Kathy (David) Gabert of Port St. Lucie, FL and Sherri (Brian) Freund of Merrill; her son John (Tracy) Beckman of Rhinelander; her six grandchildren Paul Rasmussen, Andy and Shane Polzin, Tara Gabert, and Kevin and Emma Beckman; her two sisters Marian Kottke and Susan (Clarence) Degner, both of Merrill; her three brothers John (Joan) Hanson of Tomah, Larry (Marilyn) Hanson of Salisbury, NC, and Darrell (Marion) Dehlinger of Athens; nieces, nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and a son in law Robert Polzin.
Funeral services for Dori were held on Saturday, Sept. 10, at the Carlson Funeral Home with the Chaplain John Uhlarik officiating. Interment is in the Newbold Memorial Cemetery.
