Doris A. Lange

Doris A. Lange, age 75, of Merrill, died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2011, at Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill.
Doris was born April 12, 1936, in the Town of Harding, Lincoln County, daughter of the late Edward and Martha (Marnholtz) Wanless. She married Paul G. Lange on Aug. 20, 1955, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. He preceded her in death on June 9, 2011.
Doris was a self-employed bookkeeper and had also worked at H&R Block. Doris and her late husband, Paul, leased and operated ‘Schulz’s Country Inn’ in the Town of Scott for seven years. They also ran the concession stand at Sunnyvale Softball Complex in Wausau. In 2002, Doris retired from Church Mutual Insurance Company, Merrill, as a Document Preparation Clerk. Doris enjoyed playing 500 with family; taking shopping trips with her husband; and traveling, especially the three cruises she took with Paul. Doris enjoyed her time working outside at their home whether it was gardening, yard work, or tending to her flowers. She also enjoyed relaxing in her screen-house by the river and watching Milwaukee Brewers games. Doris also enjoyed spending time with her special Grandson/Godson. Doris was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill, and she was also a member of the Merrill V.F.W. Ladies Auxiliary.
Survivors include daughter, Melanie (David) Roth, of Wausau; sons, Jeffrey Lange, of Eau Claire, and Michael Lange, of Wausau; grandchildren, Sarah Crossman, of Wausau, Joshua (Tamara) Woller, of Middleton, and Zachary Lange, of Wausau; great-grandchildren, Alexis Crossman, Madison Crossman, and Josie Gritzmacher, all of Wausau; sisters, LuElla Koehler, of Rochester, MN, and Ruth (Arthur) Henrich, of Schofield; and nieces and nephews. Doris was preceded in death by her husband, Paul G. Lange; brother, William Wanless; and brother-in-law, Chester Koehler.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 2, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill. The Rev. Scott Gustafson will officiate. Burial will take place in Immanuel Lutheran Church Cemetery, Town of Corning. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Thursday at the Taylor-Stine Funeral Home, Merrill, and again after 9:30 a.m. Friday at the church.
The Lange family would like to thank Dr. Islam; Cheryl and Debbie with the Same Day Surgery Center; and the doctors and staff at Ministry Good Samaritan Health Center, Merrill, for her treatment and stay. They would also like to thank Pastors Gustafson and Stolarczyk from Trinity Lutheran Church, Merrill.
