Robert A. ?Bob? Vogel, Sr.

Robert A. “Bob” Vogel, Sr., of Gleason, died Monday at Pine Crest Nursing Home in Merrill. Mr. Vogel was 85 years old. He was born on August 31, 1925 to the late Arthur and Sena (Kuschel) Vogel. On December 24, 1953 he married Beverly Quick in Chicago, IL. Mrs. Vogel survives and resides in Merrill.
In their early years of marriage, the Vogels remained in Chicago until January of 1958, at which time they moved to Gleason. Mr. Vogel worked for the Langlade County Highway Department and he also ran a dairy farm with his brothers. He was a member of Luther Memorial Church in Gleason. Mr. Vogel also served in the US Navy during WWII.
Mr. Vogel was an avid sports enthusiast. He was Green Bay Packer fan and a Milwaukee Brewer fan. Bob also enjoyed softball and playing with his grandchildren. He enjoyed the outdoors, bow-hunting and fishing. Playing cards was another pastime he took pleasure in.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Vogel is survived by 3 daughters; Marsha (Robert) Bloechl of Gleason, Brenda (Ronald) Follensbee of Lake Geneva, and Lisa (Roger) Kirchman of Algoma; 2 sons; Bruce (Christina) of Wausau and Robert (Amy) of Antigo; 9 grandchildren; Alyssa and Nathaniel Bloechl, Zachary and Cody Kirchman, Jesse and Tammy Vogel, Christopher (Sylvia) Slinde, and Vincent and Lacey Vogel; and a brother William (Juanita) of Gleason.
Mr. Vogel was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Clarence and Kenneth and a grandson Travis Kirchman.
A memorial service will be held on Friday at 11:00 AM at Luther Memorial Church in Gleason. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the service at the church. Reverend Steven Anderson will officiate. Interment will be in Town of Summit Cemetery. Military honors will take place at the cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the church.
