Edna A. Zuelsdorff, 92, Merrill, died Wednesday, March 16, 2011 at Pine Crest Nursing Home. She was born September 25, 1918 in the Town of Corning to the late Ewald and Minnie (Wendt) Schmidt. Edna married Wilbert Zuelsdorff in the Town of Scott on September 25, 1937. He preceded her in death September 28, 1994.
Edna dairy farmed with her husband in the Town of Scott most of her life. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Edna belonged to the Neighborly Club in the Town of Scott. She loved gardening and watching wildlife. Edna enjoyed doing crafts including needlework and crocheting, especially making crosses for the students at Trinity School. She also loved to make applesauce for friends and relatives.
Survivors include her son: Dale (Patricia) Zuelsdorff, Merrill; grandchildren: Jody Zuelsdorff and Jesse (Christine Wilmink) Zuelsdorff, all of Merrill; 3 great-grandchildren: Valerie, Olivia and Noah Wilmink, all of Merrill; and a special friend: Carol Sczygelski, Merrill. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and two brothers, Raymond and Charles Schmidt.
Services will be 6:30 PM Friday, March 18, 2011 at Waid Funeral Home. The Rev. Scott Gustafson will officiate. Visitation will be from 4:00 PM until the time of service at the funeral home.
