Lavern G. Krueger, 72, of Merrill, passed away Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at Pine Crest Nursing Home under the care of Aspirus Comfort Care & Hospice Services.
He was born September 13, 1938 in Merrill to the late Arnold & Ruth (Burmeister) Krueger. Lavern married Joanne Vandre in Merrill on September 13, 1958. She survives.
Lavern was a dairy farmer and farm mechanic. He enjoyed hunting, spoiling his grandkids and attending auctions. Lavern was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church.
Survivors include his wife: Joanne Krueger, Merrill; four children: Joni (Kal) Kunkel, Summerville, SC, Randy (Ann) Krueger, Merrill, Mark (Gail) Krueger, Sussex, WI, and Linda (Richard) Foster, Bellville, IL; 16 grandchildren: Adam, Andy, Karlie, Walter, Katelynn, Zach, Abbi, Colton, Kyle, Luke, Jacob, Eric, Jesse, Jaime, Brent and Mitchell; two great-grandchildren: Mason and Gemma; brother: Leroy (Nathleen) Krueger, Merrill, and sister: Carol (Allen) Koehler, Merrill. He was preceded in death by his parents and in 2004 his son, Gene Krueger.
Services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday, February 26, 2011 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Town of Corning. The Rev. Joel Danner will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-8 Friday, February 25, 2011 at Waid Funeral Home and again from 10:00 AM until the time of service at the church on Saturday. Burial will follow in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery, Town of Corning. Donations may be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church. Waid Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
