Tip leads to arrest of Wausau man

An 18-year old Wausau man was taken into custody on several charges after a deputy conducting a welfare check took the man into custody in the Town of Scott.

A Wausau resident reported on Friday afternoon that the man was at a business on Brandenburg Ave. and may be under the influence of drugs. When a deputy located Matthew M. Slowikowski’s vehicle in the lot he parked behind it as Slowikowski tried backing up, almost striking the squad.

When questioned Slowikowski admitted smoking marijuana and told the deputy where marijuana and a pipe were located in his vehicle.

Slowikowski was taken into custody on charges of driving under the influence of drugs first offense, possession of marijuana, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
