PCCU expands future branch access to community with purchase of land on Hwy. 51/64 corridor

Park City Credit Union is very pleased to announce the purchase of 28 acres of land on the southwest corner of the 51/64 interchange directly across from the Wal-Mart complex.

Park City Credit Union is a rapidly growing credit union serving over 23,000 members in over seven counties with a strong heritage of partnership and support in the Merrill community.

“More and more people are selecting Park City Credit Union to do their financial business and we are thrilled to be their partner,” cited CEO/President Val Mindak. “An additional facility will provide Park City Credit Union expanded lobby and drive-up options, highway visibility, as well as an ability to meet future expansion needs for our rapidly growing organization. Today is truly a historic event for Park City and we are so pleased to further entrench our roots and 73 year commitment to the Merrill community.”
The Park City Credit Union Board of Directors will determine a timeline for future activity on this site in early 2011 and will make announcements once these decisions are finalized. This site will establish a second credit union location for Merrill, with the 300 E. Second St. facility continuing to serve members at its downtown location.
Mindak added optimistically, “Park City’s acquisition will both spur growth by established businesses and attract new businesses considering a centralized Wisconsin location. The old saying, ‘Location, location, location’ is certainly true in this case.
“Looking ahead,” Mindak added, “we feel that this action helps chart a course that has the potential to positively impact the Merrill community for years to come. It presents an exciting and wonderful opportunity for us all.”
Economic growth and development is a focus for the city of Merrill. Proactive planning was done by Park City Credit Union and involved city officials early during the decision making stages.
“I was so impressed with the tremendous support for the project and the exceptional cooperation by the city officials,” Mindak added.
Speaking from the city’s point of view, Mayor Bill Bialecki commented, “We are pleased and encouraged to learn of and to be a part of the development of Park City Credit Union’s planned expansion in the east side, Hwy. 51 corridor area. To have a strong community stakeholder, such as Park City Credit Union, partnering with us in developing the gateway to our city is great news – the city will assist them in any way we can.”
