Having practiced in Merrill since 1993, Dr. Steven Silverman believes he has found a permanent home for his chiropractic office. Silverman recently purchased the former Quirt Family Dental building at 1501 E. Main St., which he feels will suit his needs for years to come.
The new building offers about 500 square feet of additional space and a better flow than his old space. In preparation for opening, some updates were done to the building, along with the addition of a new therapy bay.
“We moved here so we have the ability to expand, whether that be massage therapy or other types of services we add as time goes on,” Dr. Silverman said.
Silverman’s office previously shared a building with the Soweija dental office at 201 N. Center Ave. When the Quirt building came up for sale, Silverman felt the time was right to move out on his own.
“I was there for 16 years and had a great relationship with Dr. Soweija,” he said. “It was a career decision to do it now.”
Dr. Silverman is a shareholder and board member of Allied Health, a corporation of chiropractors that includes about 50 clinics in a four-state area.
Silverman began practicing chiropractic in 1989 and purchased a practice in Merrill in 1993. He said he enjoys practicing in Merrill and plans to be here until he retires.
“I really enjoy the small town feel and atmosphere, yet Merrill is big enough to have a variety of good businesses,” he said.
Chiropractic care focuses on the conservative treatment of neuromusculoskeletal conditions. Patients typically seek treatment from a chiropractor when they are experiencing pain or mechanical disfunction.
“We help get them back to doing their normal activities,’ Silverman said.

An open house will be held in the spring to show off the new office to patients and the public.
