THS swimmers set the bar

The THS swimmers hung within a 90-79 score of Medford in Thursday’s meet.

“The Hatchets swam 14 personal records, a season high,” Hatchet coach Theresa L’Esperance said. “What more can a coach ask for them to give it your all, even in a losing effort. We did our best.”

Marlee Kiander had two individual firsts (2:09.77, 200 free/:57.53, 100 free), and Tomahawk earned two relay wins, in the 200 free (Megan White, Hannah Schmit, Sami Kleich, Kiander, 1:55.69) and 400 free (Amanda Koshak, Kleich, Kelsey Maki, Kiander, 4:19.28).

Other runner-up finishes came from: White (100 fly, 1:16.41/ 100 brea, 1:23.25); Kleich (200 free, 2:22.86); Koshak (500 free, 6:20.02); 200 medley (Maki, Koshak, White, Schmit, 2:13.51).

Thirds were turned in by: Koshak (200 IM, 2:48.71); Schmit (50 free (:29.44); Kleich (100 fly, 1:20.67); Maki (100 back, 1:14.02); Bethany Koshak (100 brea, 1:26.55); and the 200 free (B. Koshak, Jamie Sterr, Sami Schaper, Jade Weinzatl, 2:08.99).
