Merrill City Band hopes for better weather

Rain, rain go away and come again some other day. That’s what Merrill City Band members were saying on Monday, June 21, as the skies opened up and let loose before they could even get set up for the GRABAAWR bicyclists. The weather was a little better on Wednesday, the 23rd, as the band squeezed in a concert between rain showers at the Historical Society.

The forecasters are predicting beautiful weather for Wednesday, June 30 at Bell Tower, where the band will present its “Transportation” concert that got rained out the week before. The public is invited to bring lawn chairs, or lawn mowers if they want to keep with the theme, and join the band for a “moving” performance, beginning at 7:30 p.m.

On Sunday, July 4, the city band will be performing in the Pow Wow Days parade in Tomahawk. The parade begins at 1 p.m. The following Wednesday, July 7, the band will be helping Council Grounds celebrate “Visitor Appreciation Day” with a performance at 7:30 p.m.

Admission to the park is free that day and everyone is invited to come on down to the beach area and enjoy the music as the sun sets over the river.
