Winona State's Alissa Rausch defended her NSIC title in the shot put, winning the event on the opening day of the NSIC Indoor Track and Field Championship Friday in Mankato, Minn.
Rausch's victory was commanding, claiming the conference championship with a throw of 15.01 meters. The second farthest throw in the competition was 14.31 meters.
Alissa will compete in the Track and Field National Championships in Birmingham, Alabama March 8 & 9
