Have you ever wished for a cure to cancer? Eight year old Jimmy Lee, a 3rd grader at St. Mary’s School in Tomahawk, is actually doing something about it! He’s going to shave his head to help raise money to fund research for a cure to childhood cancer. He is participating in an event sponsored by St. Baldrick’s Foundation. St. Baldrick’s head-shaving events are the fastest growing volunteer-driven fundraising opportunities benefitting childhood cancer research. The event Jimmy is participating in will be held at Green Bay Preble High School on March 19. Lee’s uncle, Dave Scheuer of Denmark WI, has participated in the event for several years and this year Jimmy has decided to join him. His grandmother, Mary Scheuer of Mishicot WI, has even agreed to shave her head with him. Jimmy is hoping to raise over $500 in donations before the big day. To donate you can look for Jimmy’s donation cans at businesses around Tomahawk, or go online to www.stbaldricks.org/participants/mypage/participantid/417224 and find his personal webpage.
